Cross Country

The Panthers performed exceptionally well at the XC meet at Thomson Park on October 12th. Each runner gave their personal best and excelled. Our teams placed well as shown below. All those early morning practices, hot sweaty runs, and grinding hills paid off in the end! Now it's time to start practicing for our next race.

1) The next meet is the Eastern Conference Finals, on Friday October 20th, at Thomson Park. This meet is runners from Grades 3-8 only. Race times are roughly the same but a schedule will be posted on this blog.

2) Runners who placed in the TOP 50 as an individuals on October 12th will advance to the next meet on October 20th.

3) The first 5 runners who were apart of a team that placed in the TOP 5 TEAMS will advance to the next meet (even if you didn't come in the top 50 individually). I know this is a bit confusing. Below is information about team placement and students advancing. The results will also be posted in the X-Country board in the front hallway.

4) GETTING TO THE NEXT MEET: We do NOT have a school bus booked for Thomson Park on Friday so parents and teachers will be driving by car. If you're able to drive your own child back and forth from the meet on Friday please let us know. If you can also volunteer to drive another student please let us know. Students can leave after their race so you don't have to commit an entire day if your driving. If you drive a child aside from your own you MUST COMPLETE A TDSB DRIVER VOLUNTEER FORM found in the school office or ask one of the teachers helping with Cross Country. We will be asking students if their parent is driving or if they need a ride on Monday and Tuesday so we can get organized.

5) PRACTICE: Next 3 practices are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at the usual 7:45AM rain or shine. We will take a rest day on Thursday before the meet on Friday.

6) TEAM RESULTS:
                                   Grade 4 Girls - 2nd Place
                                   Grade 5 Girls - 5th Place
                                   Grade 6 Girls - 2nd Place
                                   Grade 7 Boys  -3rd Place

**students who were not in the top 50 but will be moving as apart of these teams include: Selma Orgic, Oceanna Tucker, Harisha Harithas, Keira Perkins, Spencer Perkins (I may have missed a person or 2 so if you're not sure please come out to practice on Monday to confirm!)
